The Wild Metaphor

The Wild Metaphor
Our personal lives and history are often tied together. Our lives are shaped, not only by our personal life journeys and the circumstances we experience, but also by power, faith and the law. Everyday choices, family struggles and moments of love or loss do not happen in isolation. Rosa and Derricke came together through the comfort of religion, but they were soon caught in a larger struggle. The influence of greater forces, such as legal system, cultural norms and traditions often carry the weight of the past. Religion, law and politics affect the personal journeys of families and relationships in the present.
What happens when the law loses its ethical base? The systems of law and control that surround us, change our life journeys and force us to face realities that we would never have expected. Ethical judicial systems will protect people until compassion and empathy are replaced by power and control.
What is the cost to families and people who do no harm to others, when power over them is used without compassion, when the weight of rules, laws and unethical power structures weaken the foundation of family and community?
On a wilderness planet, unethical legalism endows limitless authority to unethical leaders who use their power and authority in abusive and controlling ways. Violence has been used as a weapon of unethical justice throughout history by leaders who are devoid of empathy and compassion. When the law can be used to overpower, abuse and do harm to the innocent, how will human dignity survive and how will ethical justice and governance survive?
What kind of future will parents face in raising their children when the law is devoid of compassion and empathy? Our earth has become a wilderness planet. How will we change the spirit of our planet before our earth becomes a wilderness where human beasts roam with limitless power, control and authority to do harm to the innocent?
